Co-op Happenings in May 2012

Military & Border Patrol Appreciation Weekend May 5th and 6th. All Border Patrol and active duty and retired military will receive a 10% discount as our way to say thanks for all you do!

Senior Discount Day is Tuesday, May 1st. People 65 years or older will receive a 5% discount.

Wellness Wednesday at the Sierra Vista Food Co-op is Wednesday, May 2nd. Member/owners will receive a 15% discount on vitamins and supplements, everyone else will receive a 5% discount. Laura Smith, our Wellness Manager, will be there from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm to answer your questions and help you find what you need.

We Celebrated our First Anniversary - April 14, 2012!!

Sierra Vista Food Co-op celebrated our 1st anniversary on April 14, 2012, with activities, food tasting, and music. It was one of our best sales days too!

We Have Nearly Doubled Our Produce Space

We now have a local produce truck that brings in fresh produce every Friday. We have lots of great local, in-season organic produce, including spring greens, organic berries, sprouts and much, much more! Add berries and these in-season vegetables to your list of “must be organic”: celery, sweet bell peppers, lettuce, spinach, kale and collard greens.

Here is Environmental Working Group’s “Dirty Dozen”... those that have been tested and have the most pesticides. Buy these organic: 1 Apples, 2 Celery, 3 Strawberries, 4 Peaches, 5 Spinach, 6 Nectarines - imported, 7 Grapes - imported, 8 Sweet bell peppers, 9 Potatoes, 10 Blueberries - Domestic, 11 Lettuce, 12 Kale/Collard Greens
