Third Annual Member Meeting Held March 21
We had our 3rd Annual Meeting on March 21, 2009, in the Mona Bishop Room at the Library. We thank the 111 members who either attended or mailed in a ballot. Joe Allison and Janet Brady were each re-elected to a 3-year term on the Board of Directors. The meeting started with great fair trade coffee donated by Equal Exchange and several delicious potluck dishes brought by members. The membership report was given; we currently have 339 members and have sold 435 member shares. Following the treasurer's report, given by Joe Allison, and a slide presentation, given by President Kevin Peterson, we had a lively discussion with new ideas for financing the co-op and increasing membership presented by members present. Bud Eldon and John Summers joined the newly formed Capital Campaign working group, and Tom Hanley joined the Membership working group. Members who were not able to be present at the meeting are invited to join one of these working groups: Fundraising, Membership, Capital Campaign and/or Buying Club.
Thanks to the following members and groups for providing door prizes: Equal Exchange (coffee, green tea and chocolate); Sierra Vista Farmer's Market vendors Dragoon Marketplace, Grammy's Garden, Simmon's Honey Ranchito, Arizona Rub, Desert Blossom, and Fisherman Max; members Betty Eldon, Janet Brady and Steve Fletcher.
