Why should I become a member-owner before the store opens?
Here are some reasons why.
Simply put, without the financial support of the community we will not be able to open the Sierra Vista Food Co-op.
Although we have chosen a site at Seventh Street Market Place, on E. Fry Blvd. and 7th Street, our ability to move forward is contingent on raising the necessary start-up costs.
In order to do that, we are looking at three phases of fundraising ? member shares, community loans and a business loan from a financial institution.
Before we can move on to the second phase, we have to demonstrate sufficient local support for a natural foods grocery store, and that is why we are asking you to buy a membership now.
When you buy a $200 share you become an owner of this exciting new venture, which will be unique to Sierra Vista.
Your $200 is not just an investment in this business, but an investment in your quality of life.
Imagine being able to buy fresh organic foods, grown by local producers, in a full service grocery store owned by you and your neighbors.
As a member-owner you can help decide what the store should be before and after it opens.
You can find out more about this project in our Frequently Asked Questions on this website. You can also download a membership application form and join the Sierra Vista Food Co-op today.
